Games at Jillian's Pencil in joining us at Jillian's for a few of the football games this fall. Jillian's has a satellite system, so it will often have the games even when they are not available on network TV or cable. It has good food, a great atmosphere, lots of giant TV's, a pool room, and a game room as well. Jillian's is located on North Pearl Street, about two (2) blocks north of State Street in downtown Albany (59-61 N. Pearl St.; 518-432-1997). Parking usually isn't much of a problem on Saturday afternoons. Even if the game is on network or cable TV, come on down for lunch and maybe you can root for the Wolverines with some other alumni. We are always open to suggestions for alternative sites if there is a significant interest. Opportunity to Volunteer Some of our members have expressed an interest in greatly expanding our STUDENT RECRUITING. We are searching for volunteers with a desire to support this effort. Do you have contacts, or the willingness to develop them, with your local school district? Would you be willing to serve on this committee, or to be our representative at a high school College Night? Would you like to help us plan and develop this activity? (Ground floor opportunity.) Is there anything I've left out that you would be willing to assist with? Let us hear from you about this new, vital, and fun club activity. We would welcome some new faces and ideas; this is the lifeblood of any healthy volunteer organization. Call (or e-mail) now before the waiting list becomes as long as that for football season tickets (in my dreams.) Note:To those of you who caught me ending that sentence with a preposition, or any other errors, please volunteer quickly, your help is needed. A preposition is a bad thing to end a sentence with!!! Seriously, this is a fun club with great people and some worthy activities. Your contribution will make a difference.
